Um…is this a serious question? Science leads to better, safer, and less polluting technologies, which obviously affects global warning and pollution issues. Also, science can help develops ways to control and remedy those issues.
In other words, everything religion can’t do.

Science has given us new energy sources such as solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal and nuclear power.

The pure scientists, inventors, and engineers will have their contributions, of course, but I believe a major part of the solution will come from a cross-disciplinary applied science: risk management.
Risk management embodies a number of well-established strategies that have been successfully used in industry and in policymaking. But sometimes industry and policymakers seem to forget the principles of risk management.
For example, in environmental policy, uncertainty is often used to justify inaction. But in risk management, uncertainty (or risk) is the impetus behind every action. If you wait until the probability of a bad outcome approaches 100% before taking any action, whether you’re in industry or in politics, you’ve failed to manage your risk.
Because risk management is an interdisciplinary field, it’ll take the combined efforts of environmental scientists, economists, communications/media experts, and others to get us back on track. Environmental scientists can identify and assess environmental risks (both the magnitude and the probability of bad outcomes). Economists can prioritize and manage risks on a large scale. Media communicators can inform interested parties and the public about risks.

For the most part, climate scientists can’t solve the environmental problems related to pollution. If you look at what we have done in the United States since 1970 you will see that CO is down 80%, lead is down 95%, most other known pollutants are down significantly. According to even the EPA, our air is 40% cleaner today then it was in 1995. All of this clean up is the direct result of ENGINEERS finding solutions.
I purposely ignored the global warming part since the average climate scientist has to rewrite past history to make their point. The average AGW believer on here has to ignore that we are still warming up from the last Little Ice Age that they barely recognize.

Science has improved the human condition such that the average life span of humans continues to increase and infant mortaility continues to decrease while the general standard of living continues to improve in most parts of the world.
For your question specifically, as BEE said. Science continues to develop lower poluting and less toxic solutions to problems we face.
For Global warming, science is working on it and when we find a variable or set of variables that can be controlled by man then we will be able to modify the earth’s climate and either induce or reduce global warming to fit our needs. Remember, with this power would come a great deal of responsibility.
